International Scientific and Practical Conference
"LIFE AFTER COVID-19"
On April 21-22, 2023, the International Scientific and Practical Conference "LIFE AFTER COVID-19" was held in Almaty.
The dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health of al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Zhanna Amantayevna Kalmatayeva started the conference with a welcome speech.
The plenary session "Interdisciplinary Problems of Medicine" was attended by the Head of the Laboratory of Vaccine Prevention and Immunotherapy of Allergic Diseases of the Research Institute of Vaccines and Serums named after I. I. Mechnikov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Mikhail Petrovich Kostinov, Professor of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, Doctor of Biological Sciences Oksana Anatolyevna Gizinger.
Professor Kurmanova Gaukhar Medeubayevna, Professor Kosherova Bakhyt Nurgaliyevna delivered their speeches on modern concepts of post-COVID.
To date, in Kazakhstan, the possibilities of diagnosing tuberculosis correspond to modern advanced knowledge. Professor Rakisheva Anar Sadvakasovna noted in her speech that the QunatiFERON test is highly specific, sensitive and has no contraindications. The problem of measles, the outbreak of which was in 2018-2019, and measles vaccination was raised by Professor Bayesheva Dinagul Ayapbekovna.
“Long COVID as a viral “ghost” session was devoted to a series of various clinical syndromes in the post-COVID period. The report of the head of the Department of Infectious and Tropical Diseases of S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, Professor Duysenova Amangul Kuandykovna was dedicated to the reactivation of infectious diseases. Oncological diseases problem was raised by Panov Stanislav Alexandrovich and Evgeny Ishkinin. A report on depressive disorders and decreased mobility was presented by professors of the Department of Family Medicine of the North-Western State Medical University named after I. I. Mechnikov Kuznetsova Olga Yuryevna and Ovakimyan Karina Viktorovna). The report on the consequences of the infection on the reproductive health of mother and children was delivered by Tattibekova B.N. The conference was then continued by presentations at the session of young scientists.
Within the framework of "Modern IT-technologies in medicine” section, innovative solutions for "clean" rooms, mobile applications for pregnant women and for monitoring of glucose levels as well as smart systems for remote patient assessment were presented.
"Loss of organs and systems in post-COVID-19" section included reports on Helicobacter pylori infection (Professor Baurzhan Samikovich Iskakov), rehabilitation of children with a respiratory infection (Professor Rafail Yosifovich Rozenson), characteristics of the course of chronic lung diseases on the background of Long-COVID (Dina Orynbassarovna Karibayeva).
The development of new diagnostic, treatment and prevention methods aimed at significant factors of COVID-19 and its comorbid pathologies is a complex and time-consuming process that requires the involvement of specialists in various fields and performing diverse studies.
On April 21st, 2023, the competition for young scientists was held. The winners were:

3. "Antenatal rupture of membranes: expectant management." Aigerim Yerbolatovna.
3rd place:
1. "Analysis and assessment of public awareness about the prevention of oral diseases and the role of personal hygiene." Khassanova S., Altyngazy M.
2. “The results of the assessment of the health of students: the study of allergic anamnesis.” Kulzhabay A., Karbayeva R.
